Blog from Peyton

For inqury room 2 is learning, what is a cuture? The first thing we did was brain storm what makes a cuture e.g what they wear, the food they eat and the language. Now we are working on a web quest. Everybody gets to choose a country they don't much about. Next we have to find out information and make a power point presentation.
This term in maths we are learning about decimals and fractions. Last term we did a lot on problem solving.
In reading we have been working on Anzac Day activities. Room 2 could make a poppy, read a newspaper and do some work sheets on Anzac Day.

Hi Room 2 from Miss J

Hi everyone, I hope you had great holidays and had a great first day back at school. It was great to see you all looking so good and relaxed. If you happen to read this and say to me at school "hippos are fun", then you will get 10,000 house points.
Enjoy the rest of term 2. Happy learning.

A math question to get your brain working

Two math questions to put on the blog.

1.ORDER OF OPERATIONS: 4x4+4x4+4-4x4=?

2.58-68+135-199=??? Hint: -

1. How to work it out.

4x4= 16
There are 2 16s because there are 2 4x4's and 4x4= 16 (Not including the last 4x4).
There is also a 4 after the 2 4x4's.
16+16+4= 36
36-16 (4x4) = 20
The answer is 20.

Try to work out question 2. and post it in the comments if you'd like
