procedural writing in action

In Room 2 we have been studying procedural writing. We wrote recipes using language features specific to procedural text. We included a purpose, ingredients list, method, with individual steps in chronological order and used active verbs. Upon completion we had the opportunity to make our fruit concoctions / smoothies. It was a really successful afternoon of fun learning and a good opportunity to work cooperatively with our class mates.

Please enjoy these photos.

  1. Hey Room 2, What a wonderful afternoon we had today! I'm still buzzing... Too much sugar?

I was so very impressed by your awesome behaviour and by the level of task engagement.

A massive and thanks to all of your parents, too; I am truly grateful and really appreciate the support. Thank you for allowing your kids to participate this afternoon and for providing the ingredients.

It was really a treat to see your kids step up, take ownership of their learning, to work together (in 'constructing' their drinks) and to tidy up together. (No, I'm no joking; they really did tidy up ;-) It was a special teaching moment for me.

    Rock on Room 2
